KSSL Cancels Spring 2020 Season
To All Kentucky Select Soccer League Participants,
First of all, I wanted to thank each of you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. The KSSL Board has met several times during the season to discuss the possibility of an abbreviated spring season. There are many factors that must be taken into consideration when faced with some of the difficult decisions of delaying or cancelling a season. With the continued impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in our daily lives, the KSSL Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the Spring 2020 Season. It is still unclear as to when many of the restrictions will be relaxed to allow teams/players to return to the field.
In making our final decision, the KSSL Board took into consideration the announcements and actions from Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association. Governor Beshear stated in his address on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, “We hope in this summer, and we don’t know if it will be in June or perhaps early July, we hope that we are able to do some youth sports.” Kentucky Youth Soccer Association voted to cancel the 2020 Spring Tournaments, as well as, delayed further decisions until May 17, 2020.
As a result of our decision to cancel the KSSL Spring 2020 season, we will begin processing the following refunds for our participating teams:
· $100 application fee ($25 is being used to cover application processing and fees).
· $250 bond fee will be refunded to applicable teams
Although this has been a difficult decision, the KSSL Board is confident that it is the correct decision to ensure the health of our players and coaches in our soccer family. We are looking forward to a full, competitive Fall 2020 Season. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to discuss. #TeamKentucky.

The KSSL Board would like to extend our extreme gratitude to former KSSL Director, Mark Poage. Mark has been a pillar with KSSL for the past 18 years. He has served as Age Group Coordinator, Deputy Director, and his last position was KSSL Director. He has been instrumental in the growth of our league to ensure the focus remains on the players. It will definitely be difficult to replace his knowledge and experience, but we wish him well on his future adventures. Mark...you will be missed.

Due to the KYSA registration change to Stack Sports, KSSL has adopted an exception to the current rostering rules. The new rule exception will allow teams to club pass players currently not listed on their KSSL rosters. These players must be listed on the newly designed Club Pass form. This form will be used for all club pass players going forward until further notice and must be emailed to your opponent and email@example.com at least 24 hours before kick off. Please see the current rules regarding player numbers allowed per game and season.
The Kentucky Select Soccer League (KSSL) promotes competitive soccer, fair play, and good sportsmanship. KSSL was formed in January 1998 at a meeting of seven (7) clubs and has grown from an initial 140 teams to over 300 teams from clubs representing Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia.
KSSL is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that is elected by member teams. KSSL is sanctioned by the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association.
